BLACK INTENTION plays ‘The Circle of C.P.E. Bach’
Recorder virtuosi Yvonne Rietbergen, Sascha Mommertz and Lydia Nagel will introduce the audience to the works of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, ‘the Bach of Berlin’. C.P.E. Bach, who was employed by Frederick the Great in Berlin, was born exactly 300 years ago and the event is being commemorated all over the world.
The concert combines his sensitive, expressive and unconventional compositions with a number of works of his famous father Johann Sebastian Bach, his brother and other well-known contemporaries, like Telemann and Quantz.
Atmosphere and enjoyment are the key words for the March 11 concert by string quartet ATMO’S. The name comes from the initials of the four ensmble members and they certainly generate quite an atmosphere as they perform. The quartet is made up of Albanian Artur Trajko, Italian Tiziana Pintus, Dutchwoman Marielle Ponsen and Hungarian Örzse Adam.
Drift away on this medley of melodious and romantic chamber music including compositions by Donizetti, Puccini, Verdi and Gershwin.
